Human Resources Generalist - County of Wellington

Six-Month Temporary Position

Under the supervision of the Manager of Human Resources, this position is responsible for all facets of the recruitment and selection process. The HR Generalist also has responsibilities in the areas of training, wellness, pension and benefits, labour relations, and HR-related communications.


The minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • Three year college diploma in human resources management or related field.
  • Human Resources Designation through Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) or Ontario Municipal Management Institute (OMMI).
  • Minimum four years of experience or equivalent in human resources, preferably in a municipal setting.
  • Strong experience with the recruitment and selection process.
  • Experience working with payroll, pension and benefits, and health and safety would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience working with a Human Resources Information System and Payroll System, preferably INFOHR and JD Edwards.
  • Experience editing website content would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • A valid driver's licence (minimum G2 Class) and access to a reliable vehicle.

This position offers a benefit package and an hourly range of: $36.01 to $42.11 (2020 Non-Union Compensation Grid), based on a 35 hour work week.
