Job Title: Manager, Occupational Health

Reports to: Director, Human Resources

Primary Job Location:  Central Police Station, 155 King William St, Hamilton, ON

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $113,811.65 – $133,896.06 per annum (2020 rates)

Are you an experienced Occupational Health Professional looking for a new opportunity?

 

The Hamilton Police Service is looking for an experienced Occupational Health Manager. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the position is responsible for providing a full range of disability management services including the integration of all health, safety and wellness related policies and programs, claims management, WSIAT and attendance management programs.

 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Post-Secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • CDMP certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Valid Class G Driver’s license with full driving privileges in Ontario
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive disability management experience in a complex unionized environment, handling WSIB/WSIAT, claims management, wellness, health and safety programs.
  • Demonstrated supervisor experience determining priorities and decision making is required

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to research and implement best practices to support disability management which will include, but not limited to claims management, return to work, wellness programs and WSIB.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform analysis and provide statistics information as it relates to disability management
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills to prepare reports and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems and experience with Collective Agreements.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed professional.
